I know it’s just two months passed the Holiday season, but, yes, it’s Valentine’s Day already. Here comes another round of hard earned money spent on dinner reservations, flowers, dress shoes and gifts, yes, most especially gifts, for your significant other.

So you’re all set for your Valentine’s date. But when you open your wallet, you’ve discovered that you haven’t totally gotten over your Holiday spending. The budget is scarce but you’ve already promised her that gorgeous piece she saw in the necklace display stand of a jewelry store nearby. What are you going to do?

Oh, please don’t break her heart when you show up empty handed or worse, don’t try to lure her with chocolates or flowers instead.

Here are my tips to help you get that necklace while keeping your budget.

1.    Get to the necklace you want to buy

In your space time, you can visit the jewelry store where your dream necklace is for sale. Talk to the staff and ask about the basic detail of the jewelry including the materials, karat, grade quality, warranty, etc. You can also inquire if there will be an upcoming sale or discount promo in their store and when is the best time to come back to make a purchase.

2.    Look elsewhere

If the jewelry is not a limited edition or exclusively sold by a particular brand, take the extra mile and look for other establishments that are selling the same item. If you’re lucky, you can enjoy a good discount compared to other jewelry stores. Valentine’s Day is one of the biggest shopping holidays in the market and they will certainly be glad to give you a discount if that means winning the competition.

3.    Research online

Another way to save money when buying a jewelry this Valentine’s Day is by looking at different jewelry stores online. Although it might be a little challenging to find an exact match, it will still help you save time and effort if you’re a little busy to visit a jewelry store near you.

4.    Negotiate

Ladies are very talented when it comes to this aspect, but if you want to save money, might as well do the trick. Ask for a discount, look for promo codes or avail of the free packaging to get the most out of your hard earned money.

Surviving Valentine ’s Day is not just about how much money you have. With little hard work, you can still give your partner the best necklace she wants without burning a hole in your pocket.
