Properly Displaying Precious Works of Art

Jewelry pieces are considered works of art especially if they are hand crafted by artisans who make one-of-a-kind pieces.  Just like works of art, jewelry should be displayed properly in a place where they could be easily seen and admired.  People know that obviously, the jewelry store is the best place to go to when in search for unique pieces of jewelry.  So as shop owners, the responsibility lies in your hands to make sure that these best pieces are displayed well.

A jewelry store can be intimidating at times.  People feel awkward entering these places, especially if they know that they cannot afford to buy any item and are just there to take a look around and admire the necklace display stands, earring holders and other jewelry cases.  This is the first barrier shop keepers must eliminate to reach out to more customers.  True, there are those that buy jewelry regularly as they collect or purchase it as an investment. Getting new customers, on the other hand, is really quite a challenge.

To get new customers, the whole store must imbibe an atmosphere of warmth and welcome rather than exclusivity.  It is best to make the walk-in customers feel comfortable once they enter the shop.  Consider these people as potential customers who might not be there to buy on the first visit, but would definitely come back if the time comes that they have decided to make a purchase.

This can be easily achieved if the jewelry display and the total feel of the store are inviting and not snobbish.  There are some jewelry stores that make you feel so small and so poor as if they know right away that you cannot afford to purchase any of their merchandise. However, there are also those that are welcoming to anyone coming in without giving people the feeling of awkwardness. The people inside the shop let customers browse the items in peace and just offer help when asked.

Some shopkeepers would disagree to the idea of an interactive display of some of the pieces, as this is a big security issue.  There is indeed a high risk of loss and theft if the pieces are left outside of the display case for people browsing to easily pick a piece up and check it out.  However, this would make customers feel more welcome and in the process more engaging.

There are jewelry display equipments that will help you achieve this feel for your store. Nile Corporation specializes in these kinds of products and would be very helpful for those who do not have any idea on where to source these items. Their online store has pictures of their products to give anyone an idea on what to purchase. You can give some of the items a try, like their metal wire displays where you can hang several earring displays for your precious items.  Just make sure there is someone who can assist customers when they want to try the items out.  This interactive display would sure make customers feel comfortable and may even convince them to buy a trinket or two. This is also the best way to revive the life of your jewelry store.
