Displaying Rings the Right Way

It cannot be denied that rings are one of the most popular pieces of jewelry anywhere in the world, in any culture. There seems to be a significance attached to having a ring for each important occasion in a person's life - that's why we have class rings, engagement rings, rings used by religious people (anybody wants to kiss the pope's ring?), championship rings in sports, and of course, wedding rings.

Rings have such an important place in people's lives that they extra careful about them, taking additional caution to take care and store them, lest they get lost.

How many movies and TV shows have we watched where people get into trouble because they lost their rings while working the kitchen or washing their hands? We can't really say the same thing about other pieces of jewelry like earrings or bracelets, eh?

That is why things like jewelry display sets are very important for both jewelry sellers. For people engaged in the business of selling jewelry, it is of extreme importance that the rings they sell are displayed in a way that attracts and entices people to purchase these merchandise. They cannot absolutely just leave these things to chance, or the risk of them making potential customers disinterested is huge.

So, how do jewelry merchants display the rings they sell properly? Here are some tips on displaying rings to bring them in the best light:

Elegance is still important.

Somehow, when it comes to rings, people wanting to buy them turn sentimental and emotional. Thus, they still opt for anything classic and clean. Being to edgy and trendy when it comes to displaying rings is not Really advised as there will be a disconnect on how fashion forward the display looks and what the ring is supposed to represent – a commitment, a relationship, or an achievement. Thus, merchants are advised to go for classic, plain, but elegant designs in simple but dramatic backgrounds of black and textiles of felt or velvet. Jewelry displays with prints and in overly bright hues will have to take a backseat, unless you would want to shock and eventually turn off.

Highlight special pieces with individual boxes.

While it is true that you can clump all your rings in one jewelry display tray and you can also use  necklace and pendant display. Let the customers pick the piece that stands out to them, this move could be quite risky as well. The thing is, some pieces may be too understated that they may not be able to attract the buyer amidst all the glitter it is placed in. Special pieces have to be given their own space to shine so that they may be given the chance to attract a buyer’s attention instead of letting the later look through each and every piece until something “speaks” to him or her.

Placement is important as well.

While it is good that you may have placed special pieces in individual boxes to highlight them, their arrangement is also important. You cannot afford to put a box containing a small silver band with semi-precious stones beside one with a 24-karat teardrop diamond the size of an egg. Smaller pieces should always have to be in front, allowing them the advantage of getting noticed first. Rings with huge gems can afford to be at the background, as the buyer’s attention can always be grabbed by that somehow.
