• Tip #1 - Sort Them Accordingly
The first step to organizing your jewelry is gathering it all together in one location. Sorting can be done in a variety of ways. Most people sort their jewelry by type but if you prefer, you could sort them in other ways that make sense to you. The important thing to consider when sorting is that it reflects the way you would look for something. You might like sorting the jewelry you know you wear together, or sorting them by texture or color. Sort your pieces and set them aside for the next step.
• Tip #2 – Find Containers
Next, find different organization boxes, containers, or plates to help organize those sections of jewelry you sorted beforehand. You will also want to consider what spaces you have available such as drawer space, wall space, top of dresser space, hanging in the closet space. If you have mostly drawer space available and tend to be on the practical side, stackable jewelry trays or ice cube trays will be good options for you. If you are more of a creative type and have drawer space available, you may be more drawn to using teacups or muffin tins to store them.
• Tip #3 – Be Creative and Be Practical
You can get creative with the way you store your jewelry. There are a lot of DIY projects that involves creating your own jewelry boxes or jewelry displays. You can also think something out of the box and use decorative ornaments at home to turn them into jewelry containers. Even old candle holders with the wick and wax removed could make great containers. Just be sure to keep them sorted as you did in tip 1 so you know where you can find each and every piece.
• Tip #4 – Or Simply Buy Organizers
If you don’t have enough time to do a DIY jewelry box then simply buy a jewelry organizer. Stores like Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, and Target also have cute little ornaments and organization helpers for jewelry as well, so you can always get some help from those as well.
