Jewelry Necklaces to Wear this Coming Chinese New Year 2015

February 19, 2015 marks the Chinese New Year and the start of the Year of the Green Wooden Goat, and what better way to welcome this year by knowing the right jewelry to add up on your necklace display or collection. To start with, gold is the right jewelry to commemorate this year’s Zodiac animal—the goat.

Among the other zodiac sign animals, the goat (羊 yáng) is one of the animals that people like the most. Although having different forms and can also refer to a sheep (绵羊), goat (山羊), ram/buck (公羊 male sheep or goat) or 羚羊 (antelope), this Zodiac animal symbolizes gentleness and calmness. It was even said that in ancient times, scholars have learned to use its fleece to make writing brushes and skin to keep warm.

As I’ve said earlier, gold is the metal that signifies the goat alongside with copper, so you can be sure that the gold jewelries will be “in” this year. Just like the goat, the metal gold has the attributes of clarity and unification similar to the peace-loving goat. It also symbolizes humankind’s quest to perfect, illuminate and refine his/her self. It offers attributes such as vitality, life, health, radiance, wisdom, clarity, unification, virtue and light.

White Jade

Also known as the White China Jade Stone was said to filter distractions, pulls in relevant, constructive information and aids in decision making. Jades are also known for ages as a divine gemstone in China. An ancient scholar by the name of Xu Shen considered jades to be a stone of five virtues, based on its color and property: purity, kindness, rectitude, wisdom and bravery.

Sapphire

Sapphire, on the other hand was also referred to as the symbol of the heavens, which is said to guarantee good health, innocence, truth, and preserver of chastity. People also say that it brings the wisdom of confidence to its owner’s intuition. It is also protective and grounding, and help relieves anxiety and sorrow. It was believed to be a talisman for seeking and maintaining employment.

Ruby

Called as the stone of nobility, it was considered the most magnificent of all gems. Ancients believed it surpassed all other precious stones in virtue, and its value exceeded even that of the Diamond. With its fiery pure crimson color, it was also said that it brings dire strength to its bearer.

Pearl

Pearl is one of the oldest gems and considered to be of high value. It is an is organic matter derived from oysters and mollusks. Over time, the pearl has become the symbol of purity and innocence. An old story says that a pearl was born when a single drop of rain fell from the heavens and became the heart of the oyster. Since then it pearls also called as 'teardrops of the moon'.
